A New Chapter.
A Creative Community.
A World of Possibilities.
Third Act Encore grew from a belief that life after 50 holds room for creativity, contribution, and discovery.
Our experiences shape us. Our stories connect us. And the dreams we carry can still lead us somewhere new.
We bring those ideas to life through writing, publishing, creative exploration, and opportunities for expression onstage and on film.
How It Began
The Third Act Encore anthology, published in 2024, featured 20 authors whose stories explored resilience, reinvention, and renaissance. Their experiences offered a powerful reminder: there are many ways to begin again.
The book’s launch included a Times Square billboard celebration featuring its authors—a memorable moment that brought their stories into the heart of New York City.
That beginning inspired a broader vision: a community where adults 50+ can discover opportunities to share their stories and explore the creative lives they want to lead.

Meet Pat Labez
Founder of Third Act Encore
I know the pull of a dream that keeps asking for your attention.
My journey has carried me through senior advocacy — the Alzheimer’s Association, AARP, Council on Aging, Hospice, and more — and through grief and family loss that led me back to my first love: the stage.
Born in the Philippines, raised in Hawaii and having lived across the country from California to New York, I have followed many paths and found that each experience can become part of what we offer the world.
In my 60s, this shy island girl found herself back “home” — in the Big Apple — acting on film and TV, singing on stages, producing shows, and writing in four bestselling books. I created Third Act Encore to encourage people to make room for the possibilities still ahead.
My creative work includes television appearances in Blue Bloods and New Amsterdam, the feature film Baby Ruby, and producing the award-winning short film, Howard. My work with the Artists for Mental Wellness nonprofit reflects my belief in the power of the arts through life’s transitions.
But the heart of Third Act Encore is personal: your voice matters, your curiosity belongs, and your next chapter is worth exploring. In the words of Wayne Dyer, “Don’t die with the music still in you.”
You may want to write one story, try one class, or step onto a stage for the first time. That first step can be meaningful.
I would love to help you discover yours.
